Daren explained the home buying process in great detail, and was there to answer all of our questions and concerns every step of the way. We spoke regularly throughout the escrow period and he ensured we were positioned to close without any hiccups. And did I mention he also introduced us to our lender and provided a list of referrals for home inspection services prior to close? We used them all, and they were flawless. We couldn’t be more grateful to have worked with Daren. He made the home buying process fun, enjoyable and taught us more than we could have imagined. In December I finally found a single-family home in Vista that "I wanted". I told Darren this, and he went to work putting together an aggressive offer to get accepted. Unfortunately, a cash buyer won. I wrote off the house and moved on. Unbeknownst to me Darren took the proactive step to stay in touch with the listing agent, and when the cash offer fell out Darren got my offer accepted! As this was my first time in escrow I was a bit overcome with fear at the permanence of the decision to buy a home. Again, Darren was patient, responsive, and professional during this process. Even during the holidays, he made sure I got the right inspectors to perform my due diligence on the property. Unfortunately, the property had foundation issues and Darren advised that I pull out of the deal (Thank God!). At this point, I personally became frustrated with the housing market and the fact that I was not coming to the table with cash meant my offer wasn't going to get accepted. I had all but given up. Thankfully Darren always checked in with me, which kept me looking at listings. By January 2022, I concluded that the only way to have an affordable mortgage would be to buy a home with an ADU. I shifted my search to this style of home. On only my third offer on a 3 bed 2 bath home with a 1 bed 1 bath adu Darren was able to get the listing agent to accept my offer. During the inspection period, I found a few issues on the property. Being my proponent Darren was able to negotiate the price down and get me credit on closing costs. Overall I now have a home in a desirable part of north county San Diego with an adu that is covering almost half my mortgage. I can't recommend Darren enough!
